The peaceful religion of Islam
"If you give some men a rope, they will hang themselves." This is a quote I often refer to and has had multiple reasons to do so in the past few days.
According to the somewhat skewed logic of some Muslim protesters (hooligans?) it is completely alright to burn a flag (Danish, French, Norwegian... the list goes on...) of a foreign country, burn and jump on a portray of a foreign country's prime minister (Anders Fogh Rasmussen of Denmark) and even burn down embassies (The Danish, Swedish and Norwegian in Syria) but it is deeply insulting to depict the prophet Mohammed in a newspaper cartoon. Right. Got that. I'm filled with understanding over here.
It's just that there doesn't seem to be any sort of "reaching out" approach among most of the demonstrators at all. There is no agenda about "understanding" on the table, at least not on the Muslim side. If we study the speaches and the banners from the demonstrators in Gaza, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Yemen... (and so on) the main idea is that the demonstraters only accept one way of thinking. Their way. Everybody else should be "slain", have their "heads cut off" et cetera et cetera... Nice to see that they are at least enjoying the freedom of speech on their part.
And we also learn, from caricatures in Arab newspapers, that this is all because of a Sionist conspiracy (notice how the Danish cheese is made into a star of David). Big smile....
Among the Muslim protesters' banners (shown in the links above) we can notice such delicate opinionated ideas as "Freedom go to hell" and "Be prepared for the REAL Holocaust". The peaceful religion of Islam makes so much more sense to me now.
